From
Martin Luther VK7GN I
have re-written some of my papers in response to the current efforts to form
a national organization. It is essential that every radio amateur gets behind
the push for a more efficient structure. The very future of our hobby in this
country rests on these efforts. The
same old dinosaurs are getting ready to play politics and once again prevent
change. It is interesting that every one with appropriate business,
managerial and administrative skills who has looked closely at the WIA and
its structure has strongly advocated a national body. Their efforts have been
thwarted by people who play politics and parasite on the fear of change. It
is also useful to note that non of these opponents have any professional
experience or qualifications in business or administration at anything like
the strategic level and yet they continue to thwart recommendations from
those who do. They can only get away with this if radio amateurs let them! Amateurs in Victoria have been especially lax! The
choice is stark. A WIA organized and run by people with senior experience in
business and administration or a dis-organized WIA run by those who can talk
well but know nothing of which they speak! |
