This web site started in 2001 for the sole purpose of bringing Australian Radio amateurs together in a united and centralised fashion. We met with a lot of opposition, but at the end of the day common sense prevailed. I would like to believe that we assisted in the long journey on this bumpy road to bring reality to a truly united Wireless Institute of Australia (WIA).
YOU, the Australian Radio Amateur can assist this cause by becoming a member of the WIA, to help overcome the on-going pressures on our frequencies and allocations.

The original purpose of this web site has now passed, and I am pleased to say that the Domain "amateurradio.org.au" has been transferred free of charge to the WIA, together with the registered business name "Amateur Radio Australia" .
